French it-girl, Instagrammer-turned designer Jeanne Damas simultaneously opened her first restaurant, Chez Jeanne, next to the first storefront for her label, Rouje.
The young restauranteur grew up just above her parents’ restaurant in the 10th, but all on her own she decided to open the Rue Bachaumont in the 2nd arrondissement. The environment is like a classic Parisian bistro, but modern and cozy. Single-bulb light fixtures, lots of two-person tables, a piano, comfy couches to sip wine on... it's comfortable, like the kind of place to hang out with Paris's It-crowd.
The menu is a mix of French bistro classics and American dishes. There are goat cheese and fig pastries, small burgers, tartines, mini grilled-cheese sandwiches and more beautifully simple options. A full menu is offered at lunch, shareable plates are available in the evenings, and a hearty brunch can be eaten on the weekends for 35 euros.
Take a shopping trip to Rouje then finish with a nice lunch next door. What could be more Parisian chic?
Hours of Chez Jeanne: Monday to Saturday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
