La Trésorerie

beautiful, quality home goods

It’s the mecca of anyone who likes living well and taking care of their home, à la Martha Stewart or Sarah Lavoine (a French Martha Stewart of sorts, but more fashionable). Located just off République, La Trésorerie is a massive home goods store filled with only the most quality, beautiful products at still reasonable prices.

It’s the store for people who don’t want a knife with a plastic handle, a plastic cutting board, or serve sushi on a plate. At La Trésorerie, the knives are Opinel (and you didn’t know knives could be pretty until you saw these), the cutting boards are marble or heavy wood, and there’s a non-stick sushi serving board.

There’s a cooking section, a dish ware section, a cleaning section, a linens section, and a large open area where you’ll find furniture, pillows, curtains, vases, mirrors, and other decor items. Many of the brands are French though not all. The prices are reasonable for such quality items, and occasionally surprisingly cheap. You’ll find items for your own home here and certainly a few things that could be gifts.

Stop in the store’s Swedish coffee shop, Café Smörgås, for a coffee before you go.

Open Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 7:30pm.
