TRAINED SERVICE DOGS IN THE CABIN

In accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) final rule, La Compagnie no longer considers emotional support animals to be service animals as of July 14, 2021. Emotional support animals may travel as pets in the cabin if they comply with the terms and conditions set forth above.

La Compagnie only accepts trained service dogs (trained to assist a person with disabilities) free of charge.

What is the difference between a pet and a service dog for La Compagnie?

  • A pet can be a cat, dog, or dwarf rabbit weighing less than 18 lb (8 kg). To travel on La Compagnie, its owner must pay a fee equivalent to 10% of the ticket cost and comply with the above conditions of carriage.
  • A service dog is specially trained to help its owner with various daily tasks and is carried free of charge on board. There are no restrictions on service dogs, and they can board without a cage or bag. Documentation is checked at the check-in desk on the day of departure.

Passengers travelling with a trained service dog must comply with the following conditions :

  • Each passenger may travel with a maximum of two trained service dogs.
  • You must inform our Customer Service department of their presence in the cabinat least 48 hours before departure.

As of August 1, 2024, please note the new regulations published by the CDC concerning exclusively the importation of dogs into the United States for pets and service dogs:

  • Minimum age of dog : 6 months
  • Dogs must NOT have been in a high-risk country (list of high-risk countries) in the last 6 months.
  • A CDC Dog Import Form must be completed for both Pets and Service Dogs.
  • All usual and official documents must be in English.
  • At least 48 hours prior to departure, you must submit the U.S DOT form (Air Travel with a Service Animal) for validation before your flight, attesting to the animal's health, education, and behavior.
  • Your pet must remain seated in front of your assigned seat. It is forbidden to sit in an emergency exit row or in the aisle.
  • Any dog weighing more than 13.2 lb (6 kg) and not carried in closed baggage must wear a muzzle.

La Compagnie will refuse boarding to any passenger accompanied by a trained service dog who does not meet the above conditions.

Please note that due to our cabin configuration, if you are traveling with an animal, you will not be able to fully recline your seat.
