Le Moulin à Café
Le Moulin à Café is the bastion of the French on Manhattan's Upper East Side. This new service, in addition to breakfast, lunch and brunch, would not have been possible if owner Yann N'Diaye hadn't found a quality chef.
He did so with Fernando Merino, who trained with Pierre Landet at the late Cercle Rouge (TriBeCa) before taking over the kitchen at Le Singe Vert (Chelsea) for eight years. “I'd always been looking for a chef, but I was waiting to find the right person. It's like a marriage!”
The menu features French dishes: mussels, entrecôtes frites, escargots, merguez-frites...
Prices range from $19 to $35.Le Moulin à Café has become a neighborhood staple, and you may run into Jean Reno, Charlotte Gainsbourg and other famous faces.
